gfaHello and Welcome on GFA!

I am Viktória, a Hungarian girl who was born and raised in Romania, and who lives in Denmark since 2011. The green frog, who has a major role on this site, is my faithful travel buddy since I was 10. I have carried him across borders, oceans and mountains since 2002, and I truly believe that this little mascot keeps me safe during my journeys. Two of us have started this blog because of one very simple reason: travelling is our hobby and we enjoy it more than anything else!

Going abroad is an irreplaceable opportunity whether you are young or old, whether you go to study, to work, or simply to have fun. In the end you will always be richer than you were before your visit, and that should motivate all of us to never stop travelling. My mission with this blog has a double layer. First of all, from a personal perspective, I would like to keep my beloved ones updated about my life because they miss me and I miss them. Writing a blog seems a good way to give them at least a little slice of the experiences I am getting abroad. Secondly, I want to show you guys, who are reluctant and and terrified to start seeing the world, that travelling is not that complicated and dangerous as many of you think.

People learn and evolve constantly and I believe that travelling educated me throughout the years more than any of my academic degrees or textbooks that I’ve read so far – and I want to share this knowledge with you! I think that everybody deserves to see and experience this strange, exciting and wonderful world we are living in. Each and every destination that we choose to visit or learn about has a huge impact on us. We will be able to appreciate values such as tolerance, acceptance and respect towards each other. So I hope that through my articles I can bring the different spots and values of the world a little bit closer to you!

I consider myself a very ordinary traveler. I like wandering around cities with my low quality pocket camera, shooting amateur photos at iconic sights and collecting a bunch of travel magnets from everywhere I go. And in addition, I try my best to mingle with locals and breathe in their culture during my stays. Because let’s admit it – this is the most fun in discovering the world! So if you need some good advice, tips, dos and don’ts when it comes to visiting a new country, feel free to stop by GFA.

I will try my best to give you informative, encouraging and in the same time entertaining information. I hope that you will enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them for you!
